Freedom Friday: Walking in the Freedom God Already Gave You

Updated: Feb 1

Good morning and happy Freedom Friday.

Before the day gets busy, let’s settle something in our spirit.

You are not who you used to be.

You have survived things that should have broken you. You have walked through seasons that tried to silence you. You have cried tears that no one saw but God. And yet, here you are. Still standing. Still believing. Still moving forward.

That is freedom.

Freedom is not just being delivered from something. Freedom is realizing you do not have to live bound to it anymore.

John 8:36 says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

That means your freedom is not fragile. It is not temporary. It is not based on how you feel today. It is rooted in what Jesus has already done.

You are not bound to that old version of you. Not bound to old mistakes. Not bound to old pain. Not bound to who people said you were.

You are free to grow. Free to change. Free to heal. Free to become.

The enemy wants you to keep looking back so you never step forward. But God is saying lift your head. Your past is not your prison anymore.

2 Corinthians 3:17 reminds us, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Freedom Friday is a reminder that chains can fall quietly. Sometimes freedom does not come with noise. It comes with a decision.

A decision to forgive.

A decision to let go.

A decision to believe God for more.

A decision to stop shrinking and start walking in who you are becoming.

Today, walk like someone who has been released.

Released from guilt.

Released from shame.

Released from fear.

Released from the weight of yesterday.

You may still be in process, but you are no longer in bondage.

That is freedom.

Before you go into this day, say it out loud:

I am free to heal.

I am free to grow.

I am free to walk in purpose.

I am free to become who God created me to be.

Galatians 5:1 declares, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.”

So today, walk in it. Not timid. Not hesitant. Not apologizing.

Walk in freedom.

Happy Freedom Friday.
