Word Wednesday teaching, Give Me This Mountain, with Dr. G. Denise Gray of Manifestation of His Glory Network, Inc., based on Joshua 14:12.
Word Wednesday: “Give Me This Mountain” with Dr. G. Denise Gray | Manifestation of His Glory Network, Inc. | Joshua 14:12

Joshua 14:12 (KJV)“Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day.”

WELCOME

Grace and peace, family!

Welcome to Word Wednesday with Manifestation of His Glory Network, Inc. Whether you are reading from home, taking a break at work, sitting in your car, or you found your way here because somebody shared this Word with you, I am glad you are here.

And to our Battle Ready Women joining us today, welcome, ladies!

Here at Manifestation of His Glory, we believe that whenever we come into the presence of God and sit under His Word, we go in one way and leave out another.

So wherever you are and whatever you brought with you today, open your heart and make room for God to speak.

Because by the time we finish this Word, I believe somebody is going to look at something they almost gave up on and find the faith to say again:

“Give me this mountain.”

Before we go any further, let’s pray.

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for allowing us to gather together once again, even in this virtual space. Thank You for every person who has stopped long enough to receive Your Word.

Open our hearts. Open our understanding. Speak beyond these written words and minister directly to the places where we have become tired, discouraged, or uncertain.

Remind us today that what You have spoken has not expired.

Give us ears to hear and hearts ready to receive.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO CALEB

Before we get into this Word, let me tell you who Caleb was.

Caleb was one of twelve men Moses selected to spy out the land God had promised to Israel. He represented the tribe of Judah, and when Moses sent those twelve spies into Canaan, Caleb saw everything the other men saw.

He saw the fruitful land.

He saw the fortified cities.

And yes, he saw the giants.

But Caleb came back with a different report.

Ten spies were convinced that the people occupying the land were too powerful for Israel to defeat. Their fear spread throughout the camp until an entire nation began questioning whether they could possess what God had already promised them.

But Caleb stood up and said:

“Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” Numbers 13:30

Now catch this.

Caleb was not pretending the giants were not there.

He simply believed what God said was greater than what he saw.

God described Caleb as a man who had “another spirit” and who followed Him fully.

That different spirit mattered because while everybody else was measuring themselves against the giants, Caleb was measuring the giants against his God.

And because Caleb believed God, the Lord promised that Caleb would eventually possess the land he had walked upon.

But that promise would take forty-five years to manifest.

Now, that is where I want to talk to you.

CAN YOU STILL BELIEVE GOD AFTER THE WAIT?

Some of us can believe God when the Word is fresh.

We can shout when we first hear the promise.

We get excited when God first gives us the vision.

But what happens when a year passes?

What happens when five years pass?

What happens when ten years pass?

What happens when you have prayed, believed, remained faithful, and the thing God showed you still has not happened?

Caleb waited forty-five years.

And what makes his story even more powerful is that much of his waiting was not because of something he had done wrong.

Caleb was ready the first time.

Other people were afraid.

Their unbelief resulted in Israel wandering in the wilderness for forty years.

Can I talk to somebody right here?

Sometimes you can find yourself surviving a season you did not create.

You were ready.

You believed God.

You obeyed.

You did what you were supposed to do.

But circumstances around you delayed what you knew God had spoken.

And that kind of waiting can do something to you if you are not careful.

It can make you question what you heard.

It can make you wonder whether you missed God.

It can make you start adjusting the promise because so much time has passed.

But Caleb teaches us something powerful:

TIME PASSING DOES NOT MEAN GOD CHANGED HIS MIND.

AT EIGHTY-FIVE, CALEB STILL HAD FIGHT IN HIM

Caleb was forty years old when Moses sent him to spy out the land.

Forty-five years later, at eighty-five years old, Caleb stood before Joshua and said:

“I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me.” Joshua 14:11

My God.

Forty-five years later!

In other words:

I still have my strength.

I still have my faith.

I still remember what God said.

And I still want what He promised me.

Caleb could have asked for something easy.

After everything he had survived, nobody would have blamed him.

But Caleb did not ask for easy.

He said:

“GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN.”

And understand something.

There were still giants living on that mountain.

Caleb was not asking Joshua to hand him something that had already been cleared.

He was saying, “Give me what God promised me, and I will deal with whatever is still standing on it.”

Now that will preach!

That is Battle Ready faith.

Not faith that says there will never be another fight.

Faith that says:

IF GOD PROMISED IT, I AM STILL WILLING TO FIGHT FOR IT.

WHAT IS YOUR MOUNTAIN?

Now I want to bring this right to where you are.

What is your mountain?

What did God speak to you that you quietly stopped talking about because too much time passed?

What did you once believe was possible, but disappointment caused you to put it away?

Was it your ministry?

Your business?

Your family?

Your purpose?

Your healing?

Your voice?

Your future?

Something God placed inside of you that you almost convinced yourself you were too old, too late, too tired, or too far behind to accomplish?

Hear me today:

Do not let time talk you out of what God said.

Caleb waited forty-five years and still showed up ready to possess.

He did not allow the wilderness to steal the promise out of his spirit.

He did not allow somebody else’s unbelief to become his theology.

And he did not allow his age to determine whether he could still fight.

Some of you have been looking at the mountain and asking God to remove the giants.

Maybe your prayer needs to change.

Maybe instead of asking God to make it easier, you need to ask Him to make you ready.

Because sometimes the mountain does not come without a fight.

But the fight does not mean the mountain is not yours.

BEFORE WE CLOSE

I want you to sit with this question:

What mountain are you ready to ask for again?

Not because everything looks perfect.

Not because every obstacle has disappeared.

Not because you know exactly how it is going to happen.

But simply because you still believe God.

Maybe you survived your wilderness.

Maybe you watched years pass.

Maybe there were moments when you wondered whether the promise would ever manifest.

But look at you.

You are still here.

And if there is still breath in your body and faith in your spirit, it may be time to stand in front of that mountain again.

Square your shoulders.

Remember what God told you.

And say it again:

“GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN.”

BEFORE WE LEAVE, LET’S WORSHIP GOD IN OUR GIVING

If Manifestation of His Glory Network, Inc. has blessed you and you desire to sow into this ministry, you may give through

Cash App, PayPal, or Tithely.

Give as the Lord leads you. We thank God for every person who prays for us, supports us, shares the Word, and sows into the work God has entrusted to our hands.

Let’s pray over our giving and over you before we dismiss.

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for every giver and every seed that is being sown.

Bless every household represented here. Multiply resources, open doors, provide needs, and give wisdom concerning everything You have placed into their hands.

And Father, I pray again for the person standing in front of a mountain.

Strengthen them.

Restore their courage.

Remind them of what You said.

Where waiting has produced weariness, breathe fresh strength.

Where disappointment has produced doubt, restore faith.

Where fear has caused them to retreat, give them the courage to advance again.

We will not allow time to cancel what You promised.

We will not allow giants to become greater than Your Word.

And we will not surrender what You have called us to possess.

We declare that we still believe You.

We still trust You.

And we still have some fight left in us.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

NOW, FAMILY, WE’RE READY TO GO

Thank you for joining me for Word Wednesday.

Carry this Word with you for the rest of this week:

The fact that you had to wait for it does not mean you missed it.

The mountain is still there.

The promise is still speaking.

And you still have some fight left in you.

Now may the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the sweet communion of the Holy Spirit rest, rule, and abide with us, henceforth, now and forevermore.

And all of God’s people said:

Amen.

Family, remember what we said when we came in:

We go in one way and leave out another.

So don’t leave this Word the same way you came into it.

Leave with your faith strengthened.

Leave remembering what God said.

Leave knowing that the years have not canceled the promise.

Leave ready to face the giant.

And leave ready to possess the mountain.

Until we meet again, go in peace.

I love you with the love of Christ.
